2017 Glassblowing mentorship for high school students

The glass artists of First City Art Center are proud to be offering free comprehensive glassblowing instruction to 4 high school students 9th – 11th grade in Escambia and Santa Rosa County. This year’s program, our sixth, will begin with an orientation on Feb. 16 and will continue on Tuesdays and Fridays until April 1st (see schedule below) Application deadline is Feb. 2nd and interviews will be conducted Feb. 6th. Selections will be announced Feb. 8th.

2017 Ceramics Mentorship Program

The ceramics artists of First City Art Center are proud to offer free sculpture instruction to select high school students in 9th – 12th grade in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. This mentorship is geared toward students who are eager to learn, have a strong interest in ceramic arts, and have some prior experience as reflected in their portfolio. Six students will be selected for the mentorship.

The will offer a college-level experience in sculpture. Classes begin on April 15th and will continue on Saturday afternoons until May 20th (see schedule below).
