Advanced Sewing – Mondays, 5:30 – 7:30pm
This 6-week advanced sewing class is perfect for students who already have a foundation in sewing and want to bring their own projects to work on with expert guidance.
Whether you’re looking to refine your techniques, get help with a challenging pattern, or explore more complex designs, this class will provide a supportive environment to help you elevate your sewing skills.
You’ll also have the opportunity to learn advanced sewing machine functions, troubleshoot sewing issues, and receive personalized advice on your project. This class is ideal for those who already know how to use a sewing machine and want to take their skills to the next level.
Learning Objectives:
- Advanced sewing machine techniques
- Customizing and altering patterns to fit your needs
- Fabric manipulation techniques, such as pleats, gathers, and darts
- Best practices for garment construction, finishing seams, and more.
Week 1: Plan out the class goal for the remaining 5 weeks
Week 2-6: Project Work & Advanced Techniques
Students work on their individual projects with guidance from the instructor
Focus on mastering specific techniques tailored to each student’s project
Tips on altering patterns, handling different types of fabrics, and advanced sewing methods
This class is perfect for those who want to work on a project in a creative, supportive environment with expert help to refine and enhance their sewing skills.
All patterns must be approved by the instructor prior to class starting – the instructor will reach out to each student prior to class starting
Supplies Needed:
Sewing machines will be provided, although you are welcome to bring your own
- rotary cutter
- cutting mat
- scissors
- seam ripper
- acrylic ruler
