Clay handbuilding is an ancient pottery making technique, but there is no shortage of exciting work being created today by the hands of ceramic artists. The basic techniques are easy to learn and the range of forms that are produced is very broad.
In this class we experiment with approaches to construction and decoration that help you expand your craft and your art. A basic understanding of clay and handbuilding techniques is preferred for this class.

Notice of Kiln Firing Limitations for Ceramics Classes:
FCAC ceramics classes do not include firing outside work as part of a class.
We understand that the amount of work produced in a class can range from student to student. FCAC staff will determine higher volume production rates on a case-by-case basis.
If you are producing higher than normal volumes of work and/or specifically for the purpose of commerce, we ask that you refer to our kiln firing options:
https://www.firstcityart.org/product/weekly-firing-packages/
Although we do our best to fire work in a timely manner, FCAC cannot meet specific deadlines for firing.
