2025 Creatisphere Summer Art Camp

Creatisphere inspires children through active learning, and hands-on exploration. The camp offers creative guided step by step projects, in which children are encouraged to experiment, innovate, and create.

Weekly Projects Include Pottery, Drawing, Sculpture, Collage, 3-D Design, Storytelling, Mixed Media, Painting, Printmaking, Glass, Textiles, and More!

STEAM, history, conservation, world cultures, and games are incorporated into the weekly themes.

Creatisphere will include a kiln formed glass experience as well as a kiln fired clay project. Campers will also get to see artists making blown glass, learn about the science behind glass blowing, and ask questions! Discovery, movement, and play are an important balance to inside classroom time at Creatisphere Summer Camp. Campers will spend break-times outside observing nature, or visiting the labyrinth and Long Hollow art park adjacent to our campus.

Morning Half Day 9am – 12pm (Ages 5-8)*

May 26-30 Ancient Art Going back in time, campers learn about early forms of human expression. We’ll explore the artwork created as well as the techniques and materials used in ancient civilizations such as Rome, Greece, Aztecs, Mayans, Egypt, Persia, Shang Dynasty, Polynesia, and others!
June 2-6 Comics and Cartoons Pow! Bam! Zap! Delve into popular superheroes, villains, talking animals and more while learning the elements of storytelling and character development. Campers will create their own comic and cartoon characters then bring them to life through drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and more!
June 9-13 Contemporary Creators Learn how artists from the past 100 years have influenced the way we create art today! Campers will create a variety of art utilizing the techniques from the Impressionists like Claude Monet to living legends like Yayoi Kusama.
June 16-20 Know the Natives Learn about some of the many plants, animals, and insects that live in our local ecosystems! From the bees that make our honey to the longleaf pine trees we’ll be inspired by the beauty of nature we experience everyday.
June 23-27 Musical Masterpieces This week we will be exploring the ways that the visual arts and performing arts have come together to inspire each other and create new works of art! Campers will get to create their own visual art inspired by their favorite music, construct instruments, and learn how the two types of art have influenced culture throughout history.
July 7-11 Myths and Magical Creatures From Big Foot to fairies, this week we’ll brave the tall tales of creatures from all over the world. Campers will bring these myths to life through sculptures, paintings, clay, and more!
July 14-18 Open Ocean Get ready to dive in! This week campers will learn about the infinite number of creatures that live in our oceans. From colossal squid to phytoplankton we’ll explore their unique designs and how they use them in their environment.
July 21-25 Paints and Potions The magic of art will be explored as campers make spell books, wizard hats, capes, and more! Campers will experience the transformative qualities of various mediums and processes to inspire a magic of their own.
July 28-August 1 Spectacular Space We’ll shoot for the stars this week exploring all things outer space! Pulling inspiration from the beauty across the galaxies we will create paintings, sculptures, glass creations and more!
August 4-8 Stories of the Sea Campers set sail into the legends and lore surrounding the sea. Projects will feature myths such as the lost city of Atlantis, the Loch Ness monster, sirens, merfolk, and more!
