Mixed Media Painting & Collage Class

This dynamic course will combine 3 different classes throughout the 6 week session: Mixed Media Painting, Collage Painting, and Collage & Gelli Plate Paper Making.

In this class you will be introduced to some of the materials used together to create mixed media art. We will be making collage papers, stencils, stamps and experimenting with various applications of mediums.
 These can be applied to paper, journals, greeting cards, canvas, whatever you wish to use.

Class time: Wednesdays, 9am – 12pm

  • Brushes
  • Acrylic Paint (Medium body)
  • Palate Knife
  • Stencils
  • Gelli Plate (no smaller than 5×7″)
  • Brayer
  • Variety of papers to print & paint on (tissue, rice, copy, etc.)
  • Scissors
  • Matte Medium Gel
  • Pastels, chalk, crayons (whatever you have)
  • Permanent marker
  • Canvas

 

Classroom Location:

When you arrive for class please use the De Soto Street entrance to enter the FCAC parking lot. You may park anywhere in the lot that is available, please do not block cars from exiting. There are several parking spaces along Guillemard St. if you need closer parking than available in the parking lot.

The Martha Brooks McKee Education Annex (building #3), is located in the Northeast corner of campus, to your far right when entering the parking lot. The classroom has a wonderful mural with hands on it. See the campus map below.
